Description The Lorient LAS8001 automatic drop down door seal offers a great solution for acoustic, fire, smoke and weather protection. This is because the drop seal is Certifire approved and suitable for timber fire doors providing up to 60 minutes of fire protection under the conditions of BS 476: Pt.20/22: 1987 and BS EN 1634-1: 2014 and is also approved for use on proprietary AS1905.1 fire doors for up to a 4 hour rating. It meets the smoke leakage performance requirements of BS 9999 and is used for sealing the threshold of door assemblies against leakage of ambient temperature smoke, as defined in BS 476: Part 31.1: 1983. Smoke tested in accordance with AS1530.7 on AS6905 compliant door assemblies. Acoustically tested as part of a system in accordance with ISO10140-2: 2010 and AS/NZS717.1, as well as satisfying AS1428.1 access for people with disability requirements. For the Lorient LAS8001 drop down seal to achieve this, the high efficiency mechanism lifts the door bottom seal clear of the door as soon as the door is opened and drops automatically when the door is closed creating an effective seal at the bottom of the door threshold. The LAS8001 can be used alongside any threshold plate and perimeter seal to create a complete door sealing system for either left sided or right sided single swing doors. The seal is rebated into the bottom of the door and can be adjusted independently of the fixing screws to allow self leveling on uneven surfaces. However, the door must have a 1mm gap size at a minimum and a 13mm gap size as a maximum for application. This allows room for the silicone rubber component of the seal to move and down upon door action. The seal has been tested for durability and can offer up to 1 million cycles of use.
